This new client was referred to us by a long-standing customer of six years, who required assistance in managing the overgrowth encroaching on his field edges. The aim was to enhance hay yields, ensure production safety, and reduce potential equipment repair costs. To address this, we implemented a technique known as edge feathering, which involves forestry mulching to control the overgrowth. This method serves as a habitat management strategy, replicating the cover and food sources typically found in fence rows. Edge feathering is commonly applied around crop fields to enhance food and shelter availability for various wildlife species.
